What recyclables does Best Buy accept? Some products we accept
Computers and tablets: Battery backups, laptops, monitors, mice and keyboards, web cams, hard drives, ink/toner cartridges. Car audio, video, GPS: Speakers/amps, GPS devices, radar detectors, security systems, CB radios.
What is Best Buy recycling fee? This week we introduced changes in our in-store recycling program that allow us to continue to provide this service for our customers. We are now charging customers $25 for each TV and computer monitor they recycle at our stores.
Does Best Buy wipe hard drives before recycling? If you’re recycling a product with memory storage, be sure to wipe your personal data from its hard or flash drive. No time? No worries — we require our recycling partners to wipe all data from these items. Don’t bring in any products for recycling that are contaminated with food or infested with household pests.
What does Best Buy do with waste? What happens to products that are taken to the store to be recycled? The products are removed from our stores, consolidated, and then delivered directly to one of our contracted recycling partners. From there, the recyclers determine if the product can be repaired, repurposed or recycled.
