
Is Apple going green? Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook reiterated the company’s goal to remove all plastic in its packaging by 2025 and go entirely carbon-neutral by 2030 in his company’s most recent earnings call on Oct. 28.
How is Apple being environmentally friendly? The iPhone leans heavily on recycled materials. Of the materials in Apple’s latest flagship, all rare earth, tungsten, tin, and, for the first time, gold components being used are 100% recycled. It’s also using 35% recycled plastic in this year’s design.

Apple continues to use its Green Bonds — which are among the largest in the private sector — to develop new sources of renewable energy. More than $500 million of the company’s 2019 Green Bond proceeds have been allocated to clean energy projects.
How do you think will Going Green affect Apple? As part of its mission to reduce carbon in its products, Apple will increase the use of low carbon and recycled materials in its products, innovate in product recycling and design products to be as energy efficient as possible.
