Tom Cruise looking goofy.

What does a ton of CO2 mean to you? Do you have any way of visualizing just how much that is? The following video is based on the premise that a ton of CO2 doesn’t mean much to most people.

Saving a ton of CO2? Still, nothing. No image here either.

So in this video they reworked the idea, comparing saving a ton of CO2 to saving a Tom. You know, as in Cruise. Because the creators believe Tom Cruise means something to people. He does.

They are assuming that he is valued highly and most people would want to save as many Tom’s as possible.

Problem is, I can’t stand Tom Cruise. I think he’s a bit of a loon and I wouldn’t want to save him. Wait, that doesn’t sound right. I mean that he doesn’t motivate me…to…save anything. I just don’t like him. I don’t want to visualize him. He lost me at Hello.

I think I would rather enjoy saving Bonds as in James Bonds. Almost any Bond man would do. Personally, I would be best motivated by the latest Bond, but that’s a different issue. I think the world would be a much better place with plenty of Bonds walking around, preferably in my neck of the woods.

If while watching the video you find yourself struggling with the whole Tom Cruise thing (I felt myself smiling on the inside at the thought of losing Toms) just imagine saving Bonds (as in Daniel Craig, the current James Bond) instead. Here’s a picture to help you.

Daniel Craig as James Bond

Mmmm, so much better. I almost forgot to post the video.

Got a little distracted for a minute. Here you go – Video created by Simon Wardley (http://blog.gardeviance.org/ ):

What do you think? Can you visualize a ton of CO2 now without much effort?

And who would you save: Tom or Daniel?
